Lisa Englert

Program Assistant

Lisa provides administrative and project support for the Center’s team. Lisa finds it extremely rewarding to get to work with such a highly talented and passionate group of scientific researchers who are using emerging technologies to combat the obesity epidemic and its associated costly chronic illnesses.

Lisa is also a private business owner. She founded virtualme, inc.,  an online services firm, after more than 20 years as an administrative professional. Her corporate experience included stints at the North Carolina Department of Transportation, First Flight Centennial Commission, and BellSouth Corporation.

A native of Atlanta, GA, Lisa holds an associate degree in Aviation Administration from Georgia State University. Outside of the office, she is an active volunteer, an avid wine enthusiast (she writes a bi-monthly wine column for BOOM! Magazine), a foodie, an herb gardener, a world traveler, an Italophile, and a Maineophile.

In Lisa’s words:

Favorite TV guilty pleasure: Any movie, talk show or reality show that has Channing Tatum in it!

Dream travel destination: I have many dream travel destinations, but the Seychelles are high on my bucket list.

Finish this sentence: If I wasn’t working in global digital health science, I would be…exploring the entire coast of Maine under sail.
