Dori Steinberg, PhD, MS, RD
As Director at the Center, Dori is responsible for manuscript preparation, writing grants, and conducting digital health intervention studies. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Cornell University, a Master’s degree in Public Health from Harvard University, and PhD in Nutrition from UNC Chapel Hill. Her interest in digital health stems from her clinical experience as a registered dietitian. In her practice, she noticed how difficult behavior change was for so many individuals. She believes we can use technology to provide simple tools to make it easier for people to change their diet and exercise habits. Her previous work has shown that daily weighing using connected “smart” scales (e-Scales) can be an effective self-monitoring behavior for weight loss. She’s a New Yorker turned North Carolinian, mother, wife, and vegetarian. She loves coffee, watching football (NFL) and her cat, OJ.
