Science as Social Activism, Not Just Liberal Chic

Dr. Carl Hart, Chair of Psychology at Columbia University, will give this year’s T-K Li Distinguished Lecture on Tuesday, November 8th at 4:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of Trent Semans Center. The title of his lecture is: Science as Social Activism, Not Just Liberal Chic. The lecture is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged in order to receive lecture updates and parking information.

Dr. Carl Hart is the Dirk Ziff Professor and Chair of Psychology at Columbia University and author of the award-winning memoir, “High Price: A Neuroscientist’s Journey of Self-Discovery that Challenges Everything You Know About Drugs and Society”.  

 The Distinguished Lecture Series honors Dr. T-K Li—a pioneer in alcohol research, former NIAAA Director, and Professor Emeritus. The lecture series is sponsored by the Addiction Division of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
